Hello World 👋
This month we (
and ) ditched the agenda and let the mics roll — a yapping session on life, work, burnout, creative wins, and a few chaotic tech moments. We chat about:
📚 Bhav’s love letter to Meditations for Mortals (and Becky’s confusion on the title)
🏃♀️ Becky’s third (and last?) Hyrox
🧠 Bhav’s reflections on taking three months off work and what comes next
👩🏻💻 Becky adjusting to a new role in the creator economy and battling self-doubt
💼 Bhav’s first attempt at explaining what she actually does after four years in ops
🎤 The K-pop fan forum that actually launched Becky’s creative career (and love life???)
If you’re in a season of transition - changing roles, shipping new projects, or wondering if you’re “too much” for the people around you - this one’s for you 💛
🕊️ Our creator checkpoints
A quick birds’ eye view on where we’re each at:
Bhav is wrapping up her self-imposed three-month sabbatical. She’s reflecting on what went well, what she’d do differently, and how to talk about what she actually does (spoiler: it’s more than just “ops”). Up next: figuring out what kind of work she wants next — and how to pitch herself without cringing.
Becky is deep in YouTube producer mode and quietly burnt out. The transition from journalist to creative operator has been a whirlwind — fast-paced, slightly chaotic, and full of hidden mental hurdles. She’s also in the final editing stage of her book (Bite-Sized Creativity) and trying not to rush it just for the sake of shipping.
😵💫 On burnout, guilt, and pacing yourself
We talked about how hard it is to not work — especially when your self-worth is tied to being productive.
Bhav’s takeaway from Meditations for Mortals: you don’t have to earn rest. You just get to rest.
Becky shared how she’s been working 9 to 6 (and beyond) without breaks, and how creative work cannot be forced, especially writing. Resting often leads to better ideas, even if it feels counterintuitive.
📚 Bhav’s slow reading reset
After a reading hiatus, Bhav is back with a (reading) plan. She’s currently working through Meditations for Mortals one chapter at a time — and it’s sparked a whole new relationship with reflection, rest, and what it means to be “productive.”
Becky does not have any plans for anything whatsoever, but really saw how the plan has helped Bhav complete 8 books a month.
💥 Letting ambition be visible
Becky unpacked the essay she almost didn’t publish: The Blast Radius of Ambition. We explored what it means to be “too much” for certain social circles, and how it feels to outgrow communities that don’t reflect who you’re becoming.
Bhav reminded us that even one comment — said months ago — can stick with you.
🎤 When the creative past collides with the present
In a fun twist, Becky shared how her teen K-pop fandom turned into a creative bootcamp — from subtitling Korean variety shows to meeting her now-fiancée on a forum. Bhav was shook (in the best way).
Moral of the story: Watch Kpop Demon Hunters.
⚡ Following your energy
We also talked about how we each get things done:
Becky rides energy bursts and tunes into creative flow. When she’s in it, she really gets things done.
Bhav needs structure, lists, and accountability (including writing down “shower” as a to-do item).
Different systems, same goal: stay consistent without burning out.
💌 Come grab a seat
If you’ve been navigating creative transitions, feeling low-key guilty for working too much (or too little), or wondering whether your ambition makes you “too much” — this one’s for you.
We’re just two small creators trying to stay in motion. And we’d love to hear what’s going on in your world too 💛
Send us your questions, tangles, or hot takes. We’re aspiring this to be a cozy discussion, and would like to share the love with our fellow small creators out there.
